Delicate and vulnerable, the alpine poppy apparently grows directly from the rock at high altitude. The plant is usually perceived as a small patch of color in the grey of the rocks. The high magnification and a special painting technique using spatulas in a wet color ground allow its delicate forms to be expressed to perfection. For the flowers, water-miscible oil paint was used in addition to acrylic paint, as this develops a higher luminosity. The result is a wonderful, modern picture of nature with a very good long-distance effect.
